Pasta
Pasta is a relatively blank canvas and, therefore, gets
most of its flavor from the other ingredients in the pasta
dish.  Most of the time wines are paired with the more
assertive ingredients in the dish.

For example, an Italian, tomato based sauce would go
well with an Italian wine such as Chianti.
